A Mother, Son, Dog, and a Mustang
This is one of my favourite shoots to date. I already love dog portraiture, and I’m super glad that I was able to create these images as a Mother’s Day gift. Working with Sean, Sue, and Cujo the dog for the day really reminded me about why I love photography. (Cujo didn’t really live up to his name, but I’m glad. Haha.) Throw in the vintage Ford Mustang and it couldn’t get any better! Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments section, thanks :) —JL
This photo was shot from across the street with a 75-300mm lens while standing on a two-step ladder. It consists of three images altogether. Just past the park bench and before the mountains is River Road (Richmond Portion), but you can’t see the city because of the lens compression and difference in elevation.
This was shot at a skatepark in Richmond, BC. I used a flash and small softbox modifier to make sure there were no shadows on the face.
One of my favourites.
I love the look on Cujo’s face here.
To get the reflections from the grass out of the top of the horse, I selectively desaturated it.
This was shot under a bridge in Richmond, BC (near the Oval).

Great pictures! Love the lighting in them. The subjects are easy to work with too. :)
Thanks Mai! I couldn’t agree more haha.
